Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000 for $27

Posted By: trevorf, posted 2008/01/02 16:21
Ever since I scored one of those 24" LCD's for 300, I been looking for a wireless desktop set. Luckily while roaming around at Harvey Norman (Liverpool) I saw the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000 for sale for $47, marked down from $80. Couple this sale with the 25% cash back offered by Microsoft, and I've scored this set for $27.

Anyone know whether this is a general hardly normals deal - am tempted.

I made some calls in Western Australia and had no love anywhere. Actually, the combination of incredible staff incompetence and the horrible "GO HARVEY NORMAN GO" sound that plays while you're on hold made me want to strangle someone, and has ensured I'll never shop Harvey Norman again unless they have an incredibly killer deal.

    :D
I have the second the staff incompetence
I have not had very positive experiences in the HN stores. I was in one a few months back and I asked this employee a question about one of the blue tooth head sets.... he basically ran off without saying a word! :D

I went to my local Harvey Norman (Castle Hills) during my lunch break, but the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000 was still full price at $79.95. :(
  • trevorf2008/01/04 14:38:39
Got a feeling it may only be that store then ... plus the sale price was listed on a yellow piece of paper. When requesting a demo, the sales guy ust opened up a box ... showed us, we said ok ... we'll take it ... and he wrote the new price on the box ... so maybe the price isn't in the system? (gf took it through the checkout).

    Aw well.

    *edit*
Just wanted to update without bumping the thread. I walked into a store at Brissy, and they actually had this desktop set marked at $89.95, which is actually 10 bucks more expensive than the RRP. I guess like other Harvey Norman specials, they're store specific at times.

70% off is superb. I'm a convert to the idea of wireless everything. Bugs me having crap all over the place.
