Lowest Price Guarantee.

If you find a cheaper price on the same product in stock at another store, when you buy it from us, we'll match the price & give you 10% off the difference.

** Updated 10.06.09 **
They will only match the price now! :(

Just popping this up to alert member's that aren't aware of Kmart's Lowest Price Guarantee ;)

This really does work, so if you see anything and Kmart is closer just show them the catalogue, not sure on none catalogue products, maybe they will ring the store to verify the price ;)

Depends who you get at the registers :p

Some do while others couldn't be bothered..!

I went in there recently and was told that the 10% difference no longer applies, and they will simply match.

I used to work at kmart for many many years and usually the matching price policy depended on the manager that was on duty!
• lilpretzel2008/10/07 11:34:59
Well that's strange, how can they not give it to you when they're still advertising it?

I had no problems last week, the Service assistant lady said, just take the items and catalogue to the register and they will adjust the total plus I got the 10% difference.

:)

so... where can I find the cheapest Sony Bravia 37'(?) LCD display? I think I saw one on the kmart shelfs over the weekend for $1299 :D
• craftykiwi2008/10/07 13:47:55
I often use this and usually have no problems but like queenshrew it just depends on who you get. One guy told me once it no longer applies and I begged to differ and he went and asked someone else only to find out I was correct.
Another time another guy told me no and I complained to Head Office and they quickly sorted it out. So yes it does apply but you need to stand your ground and insist it is correct if someone says no.

It's great for video games and other small items. Probably couldn't use it to get a good deal on a TV (mostly since kmart doesn't sell good TVs) but even if you find one you want, you will probably only get them to beat an advertised price but places like JB hi-fi are always willing to sell less than the price they actually advertise for.
• blackmyst2008/11/23 18:55:41
Hmm does this still apply if your putting something on layby?? I just put the guitar hero 3 pack on layby there, they rang EB Games to confirm the special, but I didn't know you could get 10% off the difference as well...

Also how does that work 10% off the difference if they were to give it to me, because Kmarts price on the GH3 pack was still $149.99 - so does that mean because the difference was $75 they will give me a further 10% off the $75 price difference being $7.50 meaning I really should be paying $67.50? if so thats even a bigger bonus, considering I put two of the packs on layby, one for me one for my sister. :)

Cheers
• lilpretzel2008/11/23 21:43:25
That's correct but I'm not sure about the layby conditions.
• kermi2008/11/24 00:07:04
Great to know it still applies! Thanks a heap! :)

Well I rang up Kmarts customer Service department, and asked about their price matching policy.

They will price match, and discount 10% of the difference. I was assured this was nationwide.

So I then rang my local Kmart which I laybyed at yesterday, told them that I didn't receive the 10% difference discount and they told me to head in with the receipt and they will fix it up.

I'm heading there soon, will let you know if I have any problems..
• blackmyst2008/11/24 13:51:29
OK just in from Kmart. I had no problems with getting them to fix up my Price Match and giving me the 10% in the difference. They did ask me if it was all checked out yesterday and asked me twice who was offering such a great deal on the Bundle.

So total for my bundle was $67.50 after price matching and 10% difference taken off. :)

Just a note on big ticket items (like TV's and computers). The big chains often arrange to have their own models with slight customisations in spec, and therefore model number, so that you can't claim this sort of price match. So it's worth checking all the specs and model numbers are the same before claiming.

A whinge about Kmart's lowest price guarantee.

I went to Kmart this evening at about 6pm with the new Myer catalogue (out today) as Myer had three of the Nintendo DS games I am after on sale (but I couldnt get to Myer before store close). I checked at the front desk and, yes, price matching +10% was still happening. Except the clerk in the games section wouldn't price match because Myer was shut and he maintained that since he couldnt check that they were in stock at Myer he wouldnt do the deal. I pointed out that the Myer sale started today and there was a very high probability that they did have stock, but still no deal.

Most annoyed:mad:

I think that's fair enough, they need to check stock levels... otherwise hundreds could have them match a "first 10 only" deal or similar.

I'd email head office labgirl. Nearly all the times I have asked for price match they have done it without even checking with the other the store and the one time the sales person refused I emailed Head Office and they apologised and sent me a voucher in lieu of the difference. Not your fault the other store wasn't open. The least they could have done was held the items you wanted and checked at the earliest time the next day.

I went to the website to lodge a complaint and it wont allow me to submit the complaint; gives me an error message -now doubly grumpy:mad:

There's been quite a few times when I've tried to cross check an item and not been able to find it based on the model number. Now it makes sense. I started off thinking that it was probably just because they were parallel imports.

hehehehe is that like the Kmart online shopping experience where you can add things to your cart but have to ring them to actually check out !
Reminds me of that california hotel song ... you can shop ... but you can never leave :whistling:

Maybe you should head in store and talk to the duty manager
• craftykiwi2009/03/12 06:33:46
Another trick for next time is to take your item to the front cash desks rather than buy at the entertainment area. While most times I've never had a problem with the entertainment area simply matching the price and beating it by 10% without checking, I've never had the front checkout people ring (possibly cos they are too busy) and they usually do the 10% off without any hesitation.
