  • nod2007/08/07 19:06:04
I suspect the offer is for new customers only - that is the way it usually works
  • schlemster2007/08/07 20:13:05
clicked through and seen that they have 2 fields one for new customers and ones for existing so you may be lucky there 0180

I wonder if you'd have any joy getting a bank/credit union etc to "price match" the features in a savings account? I know we did that with 3 different institutions when getting our car loan, and 2 when doing our mortgage. I was telling my husband about these deals and we'd be very happy to leave our fee-mad institution to one that committed to not charging us fees for online transactions, credit transactions and any other flippin' transaction they can think of, AND had a local presence for the occasional time we need to deposit a cheque. So, I wonder if you could walk in to the local "X" institution and say, "hey, HSBC will give me $72 - what about you?"
  • nod2007/08/07 22:47:02
I reckon there is never any harm in asking.
  • Brad2007/08/24 16:50:11
I see they have ceased their cashback program?
  • nod2007/08/24 17:02:01
    Yep :(
Not sure if we scared them with our transactions :D
  • admin2007/08/24 17:22:17
yea - the online cashback world is a big bad scarey place for a lot of merchants. It gets them a little worried when they see a large number of sign ups going through.
  • Gallifrey2007/08/31 00:25:59
what is the $22.50 cashback, I am new here and I dont know what that is yet.
Can anyone let me know please?
  • sab9882007/08/31 00:37:39
    Welcome to buckscoop Galifrey :p

If u click on the link in the deal section, it will take you to the deal and apply a cookie where ur purchace can be tracked. And after u sign up with an account, and the merchant verifies it, you will be credited with the 22.50 cashback ... but u have to click on the link where all the deals are " Deal section" on on the first post on the thread

Be aware the HSBC do require a $2000 deposit when opening the account:(
  • jayne2007/08/31 00:47:07
The $22.50 cashback has now finished, according to admin & nod's posts above.
