Is this in all states cause i don't think harvey nornman opens till 8:30am here in WA?
  • voteoften2008/04/25 16:13:35
Yeah, I can't imagine the one in peppy/cott open before 9. Anyone have any great ideas on how we can find out today if they will be open tomorrow?
  • trevorf2008/04/25 16:57:27
Saw the 60" Plasma last weekend for the same price at HN.

Im guessing there will prob be an ad in tomorrow's newspaper
  • craftykiwi2008/04/25 17:24:44
The early times are on their website so I guess they are opening early especially for this sale, since our stores too normally don't open until 9am.
All I can suggest is ringing tonight or before you go tomorrow to save a wasted trip.
  • voteoften2008/04/25 17:31:59
Here in WA, nothing is open today, except pubs.

and a 1 gig USB drive for $5 (although its not the cheapest you could get one for).

    40% off xbox 360 games.

That drive they've got in there is a good price as well. Took me a bit to notice but the product code they have to the right of the price is for a Western Digital My-Book Essentials drive. Prices for one start around $130 elsewhere. So not a bad buy.

Yea - thats the code - its a pretty reasonable price.

saw an ad on tv here in WA. says opening 8am - 5pm and mentions the flash drive with no mention of a time period so if in WA im guessing u can get them till they sell out

My husband went down this morning at 6.30 and said the rush was leaving as he arrived. He picked up 2 reams of paper (branded Harvey Norman; made in Thailand), 2 of the 1gb flash drives, which we'll fill with photos as a cheap mother's day gift, and one of the digital frames. The digital frame was the best price I've seen for a 7" this year (hope I'm right!) and I'm happy enough with it, but it is no where near as good (in terms of functions) as the one Brad found at dStore for $49 delivered before Christmas.

Well bit misleading the opening times, went down to ours at 7 thinking they had already been open since 6, only to find out they don't open till 8 here, there was a couple others also waiting. At 7 45 it was a good line up waiting to get through the doors, lady behind me whinged that they were suppose to be open at 6am, then lady beside me said she must need glasses and carried on her bout her, so yes I had to turn around and say that some stores opened at 6am and it was advertised as that. Needless to say, as we were pretty much the first few in the door, someone asked, where are the 1gig sticks, straight to the right, and of course thats where all the crushing crowd headed, lucky to have scored 5 pink ones for myself and 5 for my sister, they were gone within 5 mins, dvds sold out quick as and I really wanted those, so they ended up selling another brand for $10 and they didn't have the external hard drives in store, so had to put down our names for those. The lineup for checkouts was shocking, they only had 2 registers, it went from the front of the store to the back

Our were made in China but labelled Canon and seem to be very good quality.
Only 1c dearer than the advertised price ($2.95 instead of $2.94), so may have run out of the ones you got.

Shame that you were misled about your opening times and not sure what happened with ours
because didn't think there was anything urgent we needed so waited until I was passing at lunchtime. Didn't know if there'd be anything good left, but noticed a few good games and a handful of the Reams of paper so bought 2 of those.

There were lots of people but queues weren't too bad and plenty of registers open, so got through very quickly.

Just went down. The paper I got was $3.95 and the 40% off xbox 360 games were not of already advertised sales so I couldn't get Guitar hero 3 for $101.47. don't know if this is different at other stores. I went to warwick, wa. They were also out of dvd-r spindles.

Also a special they didn't mention was:
20% off PS3 games for anyone with a Playstation 3

I've never actually been to a sale where I've had to line up to get in the door. Be wacky I reckon.

Mike - what do you mean about the xbox games ??
  • voteoften2008/04/26 20:05:14
I went to two HN. The second becaus eit is next to Scitec here in perth and I was already there.

I bought 5X of the Canon paper. 1X Toshiba 1gig. The city west store still had them for $5 around 2pm. Also a mouse for $5.
also a bracket for a normal tv. PRRP 119, paid $29. REally happy about that as it is for a largish tv.

I went back to the Cottesloe HN and bought two items cheaper than the City West store - a dishwasher and an electric quilt - not to be confused with an electric blanket that you lay on top of. This is actually an electric doona. I have been wanting one for a lonnnnnnng time and they were $199 for QS or KS. The normal prices are $349/$399 at the Cott HN, $399 for QS at Citywest. I normally would not spend 200 on any doona but I really miss electric blankets from North America, esp since I have no proper heating in the house. (crap house - great block)

They had some reasonable prices on a few items I thought.

If the xbox game was already on special, then no further discount would be applied. Even if it would have been cheaper if not on special and the 40% applied on the rrp
