Campaign now ended as Optus's Budget has been met. Hopefully we will see this offer back soon
***

Optus have just launched a cashback program on Bucky that I think is pretty generous. As always you need to factor in the ongoing costs for the service to make sure that it works for you.

The offers are:

* Post paid mobile: $45 Buckscoop cashback PLUS a $50 or $100 Optus bonus depending on the plan you sign up for

* Home phone connection: $58.50 Buckscoop cashback PLUS $20 Optus bonus

* Broadband connection: $67.50 Buckscoop cashback PLUS $30 Optus bonus

* Bundle offer (Yes fusion) = Broadband + Phone: $126 Buckscoop cashback
* Bundle offer plus (Yes Fusion plus) = broadband + home phone + mobile: $171 Buckscoop cashback PLUS $50 bonus

There are a few terms and conditions for the bonus from Optus but nothing too onerous.

I wonder if I'd be able to use this to get a BlackBerry Bold...
  • nod2008/10/16 19:44:07
dont see why not if they offer one as a post paid mobile :)
good idea to play around with it and see what you can get. stacking the offers and getting the $171 cashback and the $50 bonus is a pretty good deal I think
  • bigal2008/10/16 21:27:17
hot from me, but how do you work out what plans give you the bonus $50 or $100?

and is that in the form of a cash back or credit on your account?
  • nod2008/10/16 23:18:15
The Buckscoop cashback is of course $$. The bonus from Optus is credit from what I can read.
The differences between the $50 and the $100 cashback is the mobile phone plan you take up :)

I was looking at the Nokia E71 the other day when in "3" very stylish and nice to use, now just have to wait for an upgrade :whistling:
  • craftykiwi2008/10/17 06:55:33
So is this for new customers only? And I assume the pre-paid offer is when buying a phone, not recharge cards? We're a;ready with Optus, so wondering if there's any cashback for us topping up our pre-paid cards?
  • nod2008/10/17 08:26:16
No pre paid included in this offer at all I am afraid.
I am pretty sure that it did mention renewal of contract was eligible but check the t's and c's for each product listed on the site. :)

You might like to edit your OP, then, which states:

    * Prepaid mobile: $45 Buckscoop cashback PLUS a $50 or $100 Optus bonus depending on the plan you sign up for

I take it that the pre-paid broadband product is also not included?
  • golfwidow2008/10/17 09:54:34
Great excuse to upgrade my phone now! Hard bit is i'm not really fussed over any of the designs available.
  • queenshrew2008/10/17 10:52:24
I am sad that we're already with Optus for EVERYTHING!

No way I can take up this offer in any way :(
    SOB!
  • nod2008/10/18 01:48:33

  • nod2008/10/29 15:55:59
I have been bugging them but Optus are still pfaffing  Not sure why they would start the program then take so long to finalise the details??
  • nod2008/12/04 23:11:18
AND finally it is back :w00t:

Great offer from Optus if you are needing new phone etc..
  • ozpete2008/12/05 03:57:29
So if I buy a prepaid mobile from one of the ones they offer I will get $45 cashback? - yep thats in the first post but other comments indicate this may not be the case.

How do I also know which units qualify. 1 for the cashback and 2 for the bonus credit amount.

Sorry but rather than just jump in, its better to know
  • nod2008/12/05 08:00:44
No Ozpete - sorry I have sorted my OP. The cashback is only on offer for post paid mobile sales

    My apologies

For the bonus credit you will need to check the Optus site - they have it listed with the mobile offer
  • admin2008/12/05 08:09:19
