Good spec sandgroper. That 3 year warranty would be worth quite a bit too!
  • sandgroper2007/05/18 08:42:52
Yes its a pity you cant cut the warranty to reduce the price some though
  • nod2007/05/18 19:25:06
Yeah it is a bit of a shame, but I agree with Jayne that a 3 year warranty is a good deal

Your Buckscoop cashback is about $20 on this comp :)

    Thanks for the deal sandgroper

I have just popped a dee link in sandgroper, but as the Dell site can be a bit odd, I will keep an eye on it.
If you hit the ´choose` button you can then select from the range listed :)

Only 3 days left on this $1000 off deal. It's a very good spec indeed, I was just looking at it again. But the graphics card isn't quite as good as mine now. The dell has a ATI radeon 256mb X1300 pro... i have a X1900XT (512mb)... think I win :p
  • nod2007/05/22 21:52:08
    looks like you do :D
  • sandgroper2007/05/23 00:10:03
Well you could always add a GeForce 8600GTS 256meg graphics card to this for another $242, that X1300pro is a bit of a base line solution for a high end machine.
Average bottom line cost on the street for a 8600GTS is around $250 so you dont loose too much buying it from Dell and you gain DirectX10 support with this card that will blow the X1300 clean out of the water.

...and you gain DirectX10 support with this card that will blow the X1300 clean out of the water.

    Even I don't have DX10 support... *sob*

wouldnt you want to be playing games to justify the card upgrade ??

Its not a bad price for a Dell at that spec is it.... nice find sandgroper.
  • sandgroper2007/05/23 18:16:39
Doesnt everyone play games on their PC, even those who say they dont ;-)
  • admin2007/05/23 18:34:26
:D - I must be the luddite of luddites when it comes to playing them. Even having spent the last 12 years heavily involved with computers and having a computer science degree ..... I've still never actually played one.
  • sandgroper2007/05/23 19:05:13
Oh dear, you should get out more :p

There is nothing like a first person shooter game to get rid of all the frustrations of the day, I dont play games either but I have one loaded on the drive at all times for use when all else fails. Beats kicking the cat, no vets bills involved:o
  • jayne2007/05/23 19:20:51
Yeah, they are good tension releasers. You should really try something like Half Life or Half Life 2 admin. It's what got me hooked.

Looking forward to Half Life 2 Episode 2 now...
  • nod2007/05/23 20:07:02
:o mmmmmm I will have to admit that I also am not a game freak. I think the most I have accomplished is Pacman :D
  • admin2007/05/23 20:10:58
I've gotta admit - I'd play in a second - it just something I never seem to be around and so never play, and getting one installed would be dangerous - I'd start playing it and then spend all my time trying to beat it.

I'm with you sandgroper :D, I spent too much time locked in dark places.
