    Looks good

Anybody know the difference between HD Resolution being either 1080i or 1080p

Is it the difference between that capability that saw HD-DVD lose the battle to Blu-Ray?

1080i is 1080 interlaced. Basically meaning that only each vertical line in the resolution is updated alternately. Meaning it's pretty much not as good as 1080p (progressive) which updates all lines (whole screen) on each new frame.

I don't know why HD lost the battle, but I always thought that all the hidef media were 1080p at least, which some people call true HD.

For anyone thinking of buying one of these, we've had lots of problems with ours hanging during playback. It plays normally and then freezes, and the only way to get it to play again is to reboot the machine. So it's cheap but not bug-free!
