the buckscoop money back and the free gift if you pay by paypal makes it a better deal than Bigpond's package at $689 + $10 shipping (the notebook + Canon printer A-I-O MP210 valued at $50-$70)

when I first looked at this I sort of discounted it as I have a bias against the stuff that you normally see coming out of these places - but credit to COTD - this is a pretty good machine with a reasonable spec.

    Fine print...

    Optical Drive: DVD SuperMulti Dual/Double Layer, Read: CD-ROM 24x, DVD-ROM 8x; Write: CD-R 24x, CD-RW 4x

that is, this dvd supermulti dual layer is a CD burner and not a DVD burner.

    Still.. what a price !

    well picked up stevehl

The Compaq that most people know about is cheaper after cashback and has a DVD Burner. Not worth it IMO.
  • Bullion782008/07/18 00:01:06
THE COTD deal that they had a few weeks back on the compaq was a far better deal IMHO.

It had dual core processor and DVD Burner, in fact I am using it right now... great machine

It was same price, $599 with cashback +bucky

If anyone is in the market for one, it might be worth hanging out for them to put it on COTD again.

    Just my thoughts

You have no idea what you're talking about mate. SuperMulti Drive = DVD Burner. I am sure.

How do you come to the above conclusion about the CD Burner?
