20% off The Good Guys - Gift Card from Australia Post

Posted By: Pookie, posted 2012/04/23 17:40
I saw this in Aus Post's catalogue today...20% off The Good Guys gift card. So but $100 for only $80. That's a pretty decent saving if the T&C's are not too constrictive.
I have not been able to view these T&C's so I suggest you dont go mental and buy a wad load without knowing what the implications are.
They will not be on sale until the 30th April and the deal finishes on the 20th May so if anyone happens to be in a Post Office during those days could you please let us know what the T&C's are :)

The Australia Post catalogue has a link to the t&cs

and they also hve 20% off a $100 card for 'best restaurants in Australia'

I am still confuse with the t&c. If I need to get a new fridge, can I use multiple cards to pay for it?

it's subject to the normal t&c of a gift card. might be worth calling up the good guys and asking someone in store. by rights, the gift card is as good as cash, so I would be arguing that i could use 1 x $1000 card, or 10 x $100 equally. (there are limits to how much coins a store has to accept, but I would think you can use as many cards as you like (unless their system is physcially limited to the number of payments for an item.

Thanks Rebekah, the link was not working when I posted but this still does not have the cards T&C's. These T&C's tell you to check the cards T&C's :)

Femme, according to The Good Guys site http://www.giftvouchers.com/Retailers/Good_Guys/VoucherDetails.aspx it looks like the min is $20 and the max is $500 per card. I would get clarification from your local Good Guys if you were looking at buying a fridge for more than this ie can you use 2 cards for a $1000 fridge?...oh and they don't even have T&C's on the site hah!

The Good Guys Terms and Conditions page says this, under the heading of "Paying For Your Order":
You may use a combination of payment types to pay for your order, but you are limited to using 1 credit card and/or 1 The Good Guys issued tender type (Mag-striped Gift Card, Bar-coded Gift Card, or Store Credit).

So it seems you can only use one gift card per purchase. If auspost doesn't sell the $500 or $1000 denomination gift cards that TGG does in its own stores, looks like I won't be getting the fridge I've been eyeing off just yet :(

ok, I am not happy at all with this offer, called Austpost at 9am and told me every stores in Perth have sold out the vouchers!!!! What a complete BS.

Others on OZB have reported that they could use multiple gift cards. Best is to call your local TGG store.

Wow, how is it possible that all stores have sold out?

Did they just have a limited number?

    How does that work?
  • femme172012/04/30 21:24:23
My feeling is that the staff bought all the gift cards before the door open today

According to my local post office, people were walking out with the uncharged cards last week, and started coming back in yesterday to charge/pay for them... this would explain why so many post offices seem to have none at all!

Was anyone successful in purchasing these gift cards? They were on the auspost online shop for a very short time but I couldn't add any to the cart... after trying on and off for a couple of hours they were finally displayed with the message of 'Stock unavailable'.

I did, however, manage to purchase three of the restaurant cards, so I should eat well for a while :-)
