Cheers for this but a few questions.

Have you used these type of printouts before?

Are you 100% sure printout coupons are accepted, I would hate to be embrassed if you must present the original flyer.

:)

I have used printouts before lil and they are fine but apparently if you get a really difficult sales assistant they will not accept it.
• MamaK2007/12/06 09:54:31
so no phone recharges- bugger. Still a good deal but I don't know if I'd be game enough to use it incase I got questioned about which family member gave it to me
• lisss2007/12/06 21:34:19
Hmm I'd also be a bit worried about using a printout. If anyone uses this tomorrow, can you please post... I'll be shopping on Saturday only.
• smachel2007/12/06 21:50:19
yes ... I'd love to know too if a printout would be accepted.
• sadieman2007/12/07 09:33:29

Don't know where else to post my kmart shopping experience today, so thought I'd post it here.

Went in today to purchase the 80GB ipod Classic. Used my niece's coles staff discount card, expecting a 5% discount. Instead to my amazement and great pleasure, got a discount of $54.37.

So instead of paying the full ticketed price of $344, I only had to pay $289.63. Don't know whether this is a once-off scanning error or not, but I'm very happy with the result.

Ps. Print-outs of the 15% vouchers work fine. I gave the saleswoman my b&w laser printout, hoping to get further discounts :p ; she scanned it but said the discount was already applied on the coles staff card.
• admin2007/12/07 19:37:47
Good stuff bt34 :)

Welcome to buckscoop by the way.
• MamaK2007/12/07 22:10:31
People are reporting that the print outs have worked fine, will be trying them tomorrow :)
• nod2007/12/08 01:48:48

And a big Welcome to Buckscoop BT34

Thanks for the feedback :flowers:
• sadieman2007/12/08 08:33:17
Sorry was saying that I had one from my BIL who is staff at kmart. While I was there a woman tried to use a printed one and they were funny about it don't know what happened though.
• admin2007/12/08 08:44:24
ahhh - ok. But then how do they verify that your BIL is an employee ? Or more that you are legitimate.
• sadieman2007/12/08 09:51:48
LOL I was with him when I made my purchase so I think they know...The coupons are on an a4 sheet they rip or cut them off. they have a slight shine to them.
• elegantegotist2007/12/08 10:32:19
Peoples, printed vouchers are fine. I use them ALL the time for a variety of stores and once in a blue moon you may get an inflexible staff member but you just go to someone else. Also they never ask you who your family/friend is. Seriously the SA's couldn't give two hoots about where you got it from.
• Wally2007/12/08 21:56:07
Twice used one of the clipped coupons from the sheet - the SAs just scanned the barcode - one even said that makes it a really good price :-)

After seeing your post I went out to buy an 80gb black ipod only because my 30gb one is just about full and I hate having to choose which songs/videos to delete. excepted my discount was only $51.60 bringing it down from $344 to $292.40
• nod2007/12/09 19:55:15
So you now have a 30gb and an 80 gb ipod Mike??

What are you going to do with the 30gb?
• diider2007/12/10 00:48:13
I just came home from Kmart and they said they are gonna honour it till 5 am most likely.... Got lotsa bargains :D:D:D including a Fujifilm Z10fd and a 2gb XD card for $327 :D

Not bad discount considering iPods were specifically exempted ;)

Huh? Do you mean until 5pm today (Monday?)
• diider2007/12/10 01:30:55
No, I meant 5 a.m. . I was there up to nearly half past midnite. And the crowd was massive. Struggled to find a parking for the first time!!! Crazy christmas shoppers:p

Sweet - nice super compact camera. Have you had a chance to play yet? I've read that it's not got great/good low light function, and a fair bit of noise (image issues), but is quick. I guess on most compacts, you aren't going to get perfection. The F series has a better rep; let me know your opinion on your new camera.

I have just bought/waiting on delivery of the S8000fd - much higher specs than yours, but also more $ and features etc. How much did you pay for the memory?
• admin2007/12/10 10:10:32
How much did you end up paying for it Ruby ?

Gets good reviews.
• ScarletRubies2007/12/10 12:13:11
I chose to try a parallel import, which I wasn't 100% sure of. Still, a guy at a local store told me he thought the import would be the same (manufactured in the same place as the Aussie model), it was $150 less than their buy price, and they couldn't sell it for less than $650.

I paid $425 + shipping (about $440) - so the price was exceptional. I haven't received it yet, but am willing to return it if it's not all I expect. I'll write it up as a Darn Hot Deal if it is all I hope it is!
• admin2007/12/10 12:29:17
$425 looks to be a good price. :) Nice find.

FYI: until 11.59 tonite (10/12) due to ShoppingSquare's $1 postage deal one can get the camera delivered for $426.95

I should know to check Buckscoop BEFORE I hit the shops so I know what deals are on offer!!

Yep!

Wally, that's where I got mine, but ordered it before the $1 shipping. Grumble, grumble. Anyway - if the camera is the right one, I'm jolly happy. :snowman:
• Wally2007/12/10 16:55:20

Indeed it is still a BARGAIN!.
ShoppingSquare seem to charge a hefty amount usually for shipping so when they reduce it their camera prices become 'real' bargains

Interesting what you say about them selling parallel imports - I suppose they would cover the Australian warranty aspect stating it has a 1 year warranty etc
Deals Direct seem more upfront about that aspect saying warranty not garanteed and yet their prices arent as good
• ScarletRubies2007/12/10 17:02:57
Well, I just received the camera, and have taken some good snaps in a few different conditions (not a full work out obviously), but it is made in China, not Japan as my other Fujifilm cameras have been. I am now trying to find out if they have moved their manufacturing plant (very possible) or whether I've got a different camera...

There's a bunch of reasons why a parallel import sucks - but for $200+, I was willing to check it out... man, I hope I wasn't overly stupid.

I wonder if they just provide the warranty themselves although that'd be pretty risky. Fine if you have a product thats semi reliable - crap otherwise.
