If you love dark chocolate, 1 day are having a great offer:

* 12 packs of Cadbury Old Gold Mildly Dark Chocolate for only $5.99. That's a whopping saving of over $40. Personally I prefer milk choccie, but what the heck, if it works out at only 50c a packet, think I might be able to force myself to eat it.

This starts at 12pm AEST today, and the offer ends 12 noon Tuesday 8th September. Something tells me it will sell out waaaay before then.

From website.

Hey Everyone, please note that the Best Before date for this chocolate is today (7 September 2009).

Please note that this product has a Best Before date, not an expiry date.
Goods that are past their Best Before date are still safe to consume, a Best Before date is merely an indication of when the goods should be consumed by if you want to eat it at its best quality.

best before of 7 sept 09
only allow purchase of one lot, which is a shame.
• NoosieB2009/09/07 12:23:23
Am I bad because even though the "best before" date is 7th Sept, I'd still eat it?
Guess that's a sign of a true chocoholic.
You're right voteoften, bummer we're only allowed to buy one lot :(

It is OLD gold, i would have expected to be slightly more out of date. They sting you with postage, although still a steel
• Rebekah762009/09/07 14:50:32
postage is $5.99, so that works out to about $11.98 - or $1 per block total cost.

Choc should be ok past it's best before date.

I'll be melting mine down or shaving them anyway, so even a little bloom would be okay.

Hmmm.... I dont really want expired chocolate. I think it starts tasting bad sometimes even before expiry, depending on how it is stored.

Expired confectionary or close to expiry has a market though... there's always a big stall at the Royal Show selling it.
• voteoften2009/09/07 15:30:38
Make a mousse, some fudge, or cookies. Melt it, stir in cream and you are in heaven.

hmmm.. chocolate.. Melba's Choc factory at the Royal Show (adelaide) yesterday were selling small cups of melted chocolate - a chocolate shot... mmmm chocolate
