I will give you a hot vote for this as it is not a bad price at all :) And WD have a good name too. I am reticent to look at cheaper generics for HDD - I stash my data to keep it safe so I am not keen to load it on to any old thing Thanks Robby

Not a bad price. The 750GB model from ht.com.au is slightly better value at $224. I bought the 1TB model for $312 to backup my computer.

500GB = 31.2c per GB 750GB = 29.86c per GB 1TB = 31.2c per GB So the 750 comes out on top for value per GB in this case

I just couldn't resist the temptation to get the 1TB drive. I usually go for the cheapest though :p

I work in IT, so I have to keep up appearances. I needed something to backup my data, I had a hard disk fail early last year, fortunately I was able to recover the majority of it, but I decided that I should probably get something that will allow me to backup all of my data, without having to resort to using hundreds of DVDs. I bought a 500GB WD My Book last year, but that isn't enough to backup the two computers. So now I can use the 500GB one to backup one computer and the 1TB one for the other computer.

What do you think?
