Refurb Apple cinema display 24" $1150 delivered plus cashback

19 July 2009

This is a good deal. Its the first time I've seen a refurb display on the apple site. Unlike as is often the case with the machines etc they have on there the price from apple is pretty good compared with what it'll cost you elsewhere.

I'll often buy from the refurb store rather than brand new as in my experience the goods in there are almost perfect, there's the 12 month warranty and the difference between that and new is usually a couple of hundred bucks.

Cashback on the display will be about $31.36 which brings the effective delivered price down to $1118.63 which is pretty good given its the recent release model and the price you'll pay otherwise is around $1375.

We cant deeplink into the apple store so go to the home page > store > refurbished Mac > Cinema Display section.

These monitors are superb btw if you've never used one. Everything is super crisp.

S-IPS panels with LED backlight, mmmm... note that they only support a Mini DisplayPort connection, so unless you've got one of the later model Macs, don't even think about it... only other downer (for people who need really accurate colours) is that they only come with a gloss finish...

Finally they've settled on a single type....was getting annoying there for a while.

I was thinking about getting that for awhile. Ended up getting a HP LP2475W. Same panel, not LED, but way cheaper at graysonline refurbished. About $600-$700 the last time I checked. Loads of inputs and usb ports. Love it. Well, it's not as beautiful, but it works awesome. On top of that, I have a glossy MBP beside and the HP is just so much better being matte.

only problem is that the latest range of Macs are the only computers with that connector...
