You can configure it as above but with the 24" 2407WFP monitor for a delivered price of $1245. Considering the 24"TFT is selling this week for $899 cheapest, it makes the base on its own cost just $346 Wow I wish we could buy just the base unit at that price! Or you can select the 27" Q142707WP - Dell 27 Inch Ultrasharp Widescreen LCD FULL HD 1080P which then allows you to use coupon code 39131CC55486 for 10% off the whole order making the delivered price $1845 What is nice with these large monitor upgrades is that Dell seem to keep the 3yr warranty on them even though the base unit has only 1yr so its a win win situation and bucky cashback to come too.

The deal from last week included XP Pro, and this week's deal is with XP home edition which accounts for the price difference I think. So both last week's and this week's are/were great deals

Really? It is very strange for a base line vostro to have Pro, although I am happy to be proven wrong!

Last weeks was XP home too, its still on the board just expired, nice deal though ;)

how long do you think this deal will last? i think im just going to buy this set-up because my parents bought a similar one for $1300 and that was only with a 17" monitor. i just hate that its over xmas... so much money, & still so many people to buy for!

Brooke, its due to expire on the 29th but it may go before then as its too cheap with 2gig of ram, so it may get reduced to 1gig before then.

How does Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor E2180 compare with the current Core 2 Duo cpus ?

I would put it around the mark of the E4300 core2duo 1.8Ghz cpu To go for a better cpu on this system would hike the price quite a bit as the next cpu up is E4500 (2.2Ghz) at + $160.50
