DVD Player MPEG4 DivX $34.95

19 June 2007

May only be available until sells out - there is no expiry date mentioned, but this is the usual style with DD

With this outstanding DVD/CD player from Highlander your multimedia possibilities are simply endless. Play DVDs, DivX files and even MP3s, SVCDs and audio CDs!

I have one of these (maybe a slightly different model) and it works very well. I can borrow DVD's from a friend who has a DVD recorder and "tapes" shows that I have missed. Also plays MPEG4 (compressed video) format so no need to convert back on your PC/Mac first. All at a price lower than most straight DVD players.

Also 5:1 output for surround sound (although you need a 5:1 surround sound system like most DVD players with this feature)

More info at Deals Direct online store, and remember if Buying to follow link from Buckscoop store to get your moneyback of 4.25% ($1.69)

I actually expected this to be a refurb, but its not. Its that toss up with generics - they're cheap but its hard to be sure of the quality. Which is why feedback like yours where you've been using a similar one is great. It doesnt guarantee that the product is good but at least its a step towards that conclusion. :) - probably a long way to say - thanks ozpete - nice deal. Not to mention that its made even better by the free shipping code. Has that code been posted as a voucher yet ??

hey ozpete, have you ever played a divx file where the subtitles are separated from the actual movie (its called softsub). im just wondering whether we can watch these files on divx cuz planning to buy this divx player but just dont know whether the subtitles would show.

Twingurl88 Sorry havent played these. Or at least not that I know of. I have played some with subtitles but cant tell you if they were softsub or not Admin, Nod posted this code here http://www.buckscoop.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=2402

Thanks for the deal Ozpete - great price too I am a bit like Admin, in that I am wary of non branded electronics. But there appear to be so many on the market that some must be decent, and you certainly can pick up a bargain. Anyone know what the warranty/after sales customer care is like with Highlander

twingurl - I suspect you may have problems with it playing softsub unless you can update the codecs that it uses. I know the only thing I can get on my computer to play them is vlan. All of the other normal players with the normal codecs tend wont do the subtitles.

    thanks for that admin

likewise works well for me - occasional hic cup but very rare, for the price its seems as good as my older more expensive units

I'd say the Tevion DVD player just released at Aldi on Dec 26/27 offers better value at $34.95. AND it plays from USB keys which is great. I've had one 6 months and it's never skipped a beat. Something to consider.

What do you think?
