This week has produced some excellent deals on wine, so if you’ve came across this article hoping to find a bargain – you’re in the right place. On fire this week is WineMarket who been offering some particularly hot deals, significantly undercutting market prices with their specials. There’s also a decent buy-a-case-get-a-case-free offer from WineBros as well as a related deal which I’ve thrown in at the end giving you somewhere to put all your new wine orders.
A Dozen Catching Thieves Margaret River Cabernet Merlot 2011 For $97 Delivered
In this deal you can get 12 bottles of award winning 2011 Margaret River cabernet merlot from Catching Thieves winery. Considering it has a 91 point rating by James Halliday as well as the fact that the bottle-price on this 2011 vintage works out at just $7.42, I believe you’ll struggle to find a similar calibre of red for below $10 anywhere else.
In actual fact, a dozen of these wines from Dan Murphy’s will cost you $142.80 while over at Crackawines you’re looking at $191.88 – that’s before any shipping costs have been added on. These store prices equate to a per-bottle price of $11.90 and $15.99 respectively.
Peter Lehmann Layers 2010 varieties at WineMarket for $7/bottle + Free Delivery
Another one of WineMarket’s steaming bargains is this special on a case (12) 2010 vintage Peter Lehmann Layers / Barossa. You have the choice of purchasing a dozen reds, whites or a mix (half and half) for a total of $84 which they’ve also decided to include free shipping on as well.
That works out at a mere $7 per bottle which is a great deal when you consider that the Layers white and red Barossa wines from Cracka Wines, Cellarmasters and Winelist Australia are all charging about $15 a bottle. And if you purchase the 2010 Barossa from the Peter Lehmann winery directly, you’ll have to pay $18 per bottle.
6 x Cliffhanger Cab Sav + free 6 x Penfolds Shiraz Cab delivered for $128.94 from WineBros
WineBro’s have an offer on a case of six Grampians Cliffhanger Cabernet Sauvignon (2011) where they’re also throwing in a “free” case (6) of Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet 2011 for $128.94 with shipping.
The Cliffhanger was difficult to price compare elsewhere, but the best deal online for the Penfolds (from Liquor Land) was $59.39. This implies a cost of $10.09 per bottle for the Cliffhanger and $9.90 for the Penfolds (which also happens to have a 5 star Halliday rating). Getting a decent bottle of cabernet sauvignon or shiraz cabernet for around the $10 mark is good value making this an enticing deal if you’re yet to try either one of these wines.
And just to top it all off, this last deal gives you somewhere to stash all your latest purchases. Save over $200 on the Vintec 50 bottle wine cabinet for $1290 from Appliances Online (including delivery costs). Need to act quickly on this one though as it looks like the offer is only valid for another 24 hours (expires midnight 31st January).
Not only is this offer quite a bit cheaper than the next best price online from Whitfords Home Appliances (at $1513, followed by Harvey Norman at $1648) but the fact that you’re also getting free shipping included saves you the usual rate of about $45 which you’d be for by other stores for delivery.
