Weekly Lineup of the Top Australian Freebies (February Week 1)

Posted by on February 6, 2015 at 9:16 AM

Buckscoop’s weekly lineup of the top Australian freebies is upon us once more, with some particularly exciting offers available this time round. The good thing about freebies versus sales/deals in general, is that they tend to last for longer (i.e. a few weeks rather than a few days). So feel free to browse through our previous weekly lineups to see if anything catches your eye as there’s a good chance of it still being available.

Weekly Lineup of the Top Australian Freebies (February Week 1)

This week we’ve got everything from free satellite images scanning the globe, to face masks and doggy treats. Intrigued? Well then keep reading to learn more about what’s on offer.

Google Earth Pro for free (save USD$399 per year)

Weekly Lineup of the Top Australian Freebies (February Week 1)

I actually put up this freebie after coming across an article about it on Techcrunch. Previously, you would have had to pay a whopping USD$399 per year to obtain a license for the Pro version of Google Earth. But for one reason or another, Google have decided to give it away for free.

What you need to do is click on this link and fill out the form in order to sign up. After doing so, you’ll receive an email with a code/key which you can then use to unlock the Pro features in Google Earth.

A couple of things you need to be aware of regarding the registration process though which we’ve figured out. It doesn’t seem to like hotmail, live, outlook etc email addresses, however gmail ones work just fine. Also important is that you need to make sure you choose a specific industry from the drop down list other than ‘Personal’, as this seems to generate an error.

If you’re wondering what the Pro version gives you over the standard Google Earth product, here’s a brief summary:

-  Print images at 4800×3200 (non-Pro is capped at 1000×1000)
-  Automatically import a few thousand addresses at once to be pinned on a map
-  Capture HD videos of what’s on screen.
-  Measure distances/areas using lines, paths, polygons, circles, and more (non-pro can only handle lines/paths)

Free Drink & Chips at Nandos

Weekly Lineup of the Top Australian Freebies (February Week 1)

For this freebie, you’ll need to firstly follow this link and register with Kogan (only email address and name is required). Then download the Nando’s app for either your Android or iOS device and sign up to “Nando’s Peri-Peri Perks”. Make sure that you use the same email address for both.

Up to 5 days after signing up, Nando’s will update your account with the offer to receive your free drink and chips the next time you’re at one of their chains.  To redeem the offer, you’ll need to show them the barcode they assign to you for this promotion (seen under ‘My Account’ within the app) which they’ll scan at the till.

This promo is limited to the first 5000 customers and expires on the 23 Apl 2015.

Anti-Age Care Garnier Bio Active (Toluna)

Weekly Lineup of the Top Australian Freebies (February Week 1)

Here’s another quality product that you can get a free sample of from Toluna in exchange for your feedback.  If you’re not already registered with them you’ll need to do so before you can request your sample, which you have until the 9th of February 2015 to do so.

Garnier bio active night cream is a natural cosmetics product that is rich in vitamins and minerals. It is enriched with Aloe Vera helping give you balanced and radiant skin.

Free Cadbury Medium Bars (30g-60g) at Coles
Weekly Lineup of the Top Australian Freebies (February Week 1)

Last but not least is a great way to get something for free that wasn’t initially offered as such. This week Coles have their Cadbury Medium Bars (30-60g) on special for half price, which means they’re down from $1.99 to $0.99. Check out the last page of Coles’ weekly catalogue for details on this offer.

The way to get one of these bars for free, is to print off this coupon which offers customers $1 off the Cadbury confectionary range at Coles. Once at the checkout, present the coupon printout to the cashier who’ll run it through the till, effectively making your purchase for the bar drop to zero.

The terms and conditions for the coupon are as follows:

Voucher valid for a single purchase from the CADBURY confectionery range via Coles or Coles Express outlets. Includes CADBURY Blocks, Sharepacks, Bitesize, Bars, Gifting or Pre-teens (Caramello, Freddo, Chomp, Curly Wurly). Excludes Cadbury Easter range. No refunds if product is less than $1. One voucher per QUALIFYING PURCHASE. Offer Valid from 4/2/2015 to 31/3/2015.
