Bookworld’s latest 30% off voucher code, valid for the month of July, is a good reason to become a “Bookworld Citizen”. I say that as the code itself only entitles normal customers to get 20% off, however if you choose to upgrade to a free Citizen membership you’ll get an extra 10% discount on top of that.
Bookworld voucher codes usually max out at around 50% off. So despite this voucher being below that level, 30% is still more interesting than the usual 10%-20% off codes which we see on Buckscoop most often. Where you can really end up scoring a bargain on book purchases right now though, is to combine the 30% discount with some of Bookworld’s current clearance sale offers (note: the code cannot be used to buy ebooks and audio books).
The first offer worth a look at was the paperback copy of “Half Of A Yellow Sun” by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Chimamanda Ngozi Adi. Winner of the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction 2007, it entails a heartbreaking and tragic story set in Nigeria during the 1960′s which is now being turned into a major film starring Thandie Newton and Chiwetel Ejiofor (due for release in 2014).
Bookworld’s voucher code means you can have this book shipped to your front door for $7.77, which is very cheap by comparison. The next best price you’ll find it selling for is over at Book Depository for $12.31 (delivery included). Everywhere else though, including ABC Shop, Fishpond, Angus & Robertson as well as Booktopia, are selling this novel for between $16.99 to $19.99. Essentially, Bookworld’s voucher means you’re getting it for less than half of the average market price.
For anyone feeling like they’re stuck in a rut with their cooking or perhaps just need a bit of inspiration, Bookworld has “Love To Cook: 140 Simply Delicious Recipes To Share” by Vallie Little in paperback for $15.55 with delivery. Another very competitive price as it looks like every other store with this cooking book in stock is charging between $29.95 and $35.99 (from Booktopia, Angus & Robertson, Boomerang Books, Better Read Than Dead, and BookWeb Australia). Again, almost 50% off what the market price on this book is online.
As the title suggests, there are more than 140 recipes (themed by ingredient for easy reference) which cover everything from weekday family dinners “with a twist” to more creative and inspiring ideas for entertaining guests or larger groups.
The choice in this clearance sale is wide enough that you shouldn’t have any issues picking out an item or two that fit the bill (both taste and budget wise). Another area where Bookworld sales generally come in handy for bargain hunting is on university textbooks. The savings on these can quickly add up if you’ve got a number of them which you’re on the lookout for.
Hopefully you manage to find something suitable at a good price during this sale, and please feel free to share with the rest of the Buckscoop community if you come across any particularly good offers on titles by leaving a comment below.
