There will no doubt be tons of glitz and glamour at one of the Gold Coast’s biggest parties this year, the V8 Supercars ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600 (October 25 – 27). If you’re a supercar fan and haven’t already got your tickets and accommodation booked for this event, then best do it right away as time is running out. To help speed up the process for you, I’ll be listing the various ticketing options below as well as a couple of hotel deals offering great savings. As a follow up article, I’ll also do some investigation into Gold Coast car hire deals to see what I can find.
ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600 Tickets
Ticketek.com have Weekend/3Day Trackside tickets priced as follows (of which there’s a one-off online booking fee of $7.95 too):
- Adult 18yrs + Inclusive tickets are $135.00
- Concession Aged + Disability tickets are $115.00
- Junior 13-17yrs Inclusive tickets are $81.00
- Family 2Adlts + 2Jnrs/1Adlt + 3Jnrs (Admits 4) tickets are $351.00
Kids aged 12 and under receive free general admission with a paying adult. When purchasing your tickets online, you’ll also be presented with an option to add the “Jim Beam Sand Jam TWO DAY Concert Tickets” option to your order for $39.90 which gives you entry to both Friday’s concert (featuring Gym Class Heroes featuring Travie McCoy, Spiderbait, Havana Brown and Bombs Away) and Saturday’s (featuring The Presets, Grinspoon, The Stafford Brothers and Brooke Evers). However, if you’re quick on those days, they’re actually giving the first 1,000 people who posses either a same-day or 3-day ticket free entrance.
Otherwise, you can purchase same-day Trackside tickets for either Friday, Saturday or Sunday if you’re not able to be there the whole time. Adult tickets will cost you $48 on Friday and then go up to $78 for the main events on Saturday and Sunday. Similarly, Concession tickets on Friday are cheaper at $38 becoming more expensive at $68 for the other two days. Junior same-day tickets (13 – 17yrs) are between $29 and $47, while Family tickets (2 Adlts+ 2Jnrs / 1Adlt + 3Jnrs) will cost either $125 or $203 depending on the day.
ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600 Accommodation
1. Bayview Bay Apartments
Through Booking.com you can get a two bedroom apartment (90 sq/meters), which sleeps up to four, for $160 per night or $320 in total when staying on the Friday (25th) and Saturday (26th) nights. Apartments are air-conditioned, most have sea views, feature an open-plan living areas which open onto a balcony or courtyard. There’s a separate kitchen which includes a dishwasher, microwave oven, wall-mounted oven and refrigerator. The apartments are approximately 10km’s away from the race circuit.
2. Turtle Beach Resort
Roughly 7-8km’s away from the V8 Supercars circuit is Turtle Beach Resort where it looks like Booking.com again have the best rates for two nights in a one bedroom apartment at $298. It features a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, kitchenware, oven, stove) and laundry facilities, as well as two 40-inch flat-screen TVs (one in the bedroom and one in the living area). If you’re looking to accommodate up to four people, then you can opt for the superior two bedroom apartment which costs $398 (same rates on Venere.com and Expedia.com.au).
1. Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise
Next up is the 4.5 star Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise where you can get a standard double or twin room for $405 if you book through either Expedia.com.au or Booking.com. If there are three of you, choose the superior Room (2 double beds with 0cean view) as it allows occupancy of up to three adults. The standard room though offers everything you’d expect of a hotel at this price including a coffee/tea maker, bathroom amenities, climate control/air conditioning etc. On the 26th floor you’ll find the Four Winds 360 Restaurant, Queensland’s only revolving restaurant, if you fancy some fine dinning with stunning views.
2. Vibe Hotel Gold Coast
Looks like once again Booking.com are offering the best deal as you can get a King room with water view at the Vibe Hotel Gold Coast for $513 on the Friday and Saturday nights. This will cost you $570 on Expedia.com.au but I see their room description allows for up to three adults, whereas Booking.com only allows for a maximum of two. So you may want to consider this if there are three of you staying together. If you’d like breakfast thrown in then it’ll cost an extra $20.50 per person, per night. The Vibe Hotel is ranked within the top 25 hotels in Surfers Paradise according to Tripadvisor. The King room comes with all the mod-cons you’d expect from this kind of establishment and it’s approximately 3.5 – 4km’s away from the race circuit.
1. Q1 Gold Coast Resort & Spa
The Q1 Resort & Spa has a limited offer through Expedia.com.au where you can get a 1 bedroom apartment, which sleeps up to 4, for $620 when staying for the Friday and Saturday. If you can manage to find 3 other fellow-supercar-fans to split the cost with you then suddenly you’re looking at a far more reasonable $155 each for two nights in this plush apartment. It measures 85 sq/meters and opens onto a balcony with great views. There’s a modern kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, a stovetop, dishwasher and a microwave. Beside the kitchen is a separate sitting area.
2. Mantra Circle on Cavill Gold Coast
Mantra Circle on Cavill is only 1.1km from the ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600 track and if you book through Booking.com you can get a one bedroom apartment with ocean view and spa bath for $856 over the weekend. It sleeps a maximum of four adults, so if you can share the costs with 3 others you’re talking about $214 each for both nights. At the time of writing it says on Booking.com that there are only four of these room types left, so don’t wait too long to make a decision if you’re intent on splashing out on a bit of luxury.
